11-3-2011 Review of Documentary Manufacturing Consent

This movie was interesting to me because Chomsky pretty much believe the opposite of anyone in this time period. Even with all the criticism he received about how he felt about the way media portrait information or withheld information or the portrait information or withheld information. he was still not afraid to voice his opinion in talk shows and radio shows, even after one television host called him an out right liar, he still continued to speak and preach about the way our government and the media wrongly portray information. In this movie he makes the statement that "Propaganda is to democracy what violence is to dictatorship."
Democracy is based on giving information to the people and then letting them chose, by voting. So when the media or the government releases half true propaganda with the intent on influencing voters, they are controlling the public with lies. Like this, a dictatorship removes the right to choice, by controlling with violence.
